The comedian Joan Rivers has passed away at the age of 81 after she stopped breathing while having sugary last week.
Joan was having surgery on her neck last week when she stopped berating then being rushed to the local emergency centre.
Her daughter Melissa Rivers was the one who broke the news to the world about her mothers death as she said:
“It is with great sadness that I announce the death of my mother, Joan Rivers. She passed peacefully at 1:17pm surrounded by family and close friends. My son and I would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff of Mount Sinai Hospital for the amazing care they provided for my mother. Cooper and I have found ourselves humbled by the outpouring of love, support, and prayers we have received from around the world. They have been heard and appreciated. My mother’s greatest joy in life was to make people laugh. Although that is difficult to do right now, I know her final wish would be that we return to laughing soon.”
TMZ have announced that Joan was taken off life support by her daughter to let her pass away pecefully!

As you may know Joan and Kelly had a special relationship as they both where the main presenters of E!’sFashion Police.
Along with the photo above Kelly said on her Facebook page:
I’m completely heartbroken by the loss of my beloved Joan. Not only was she my boss, she was and will always be my teacher, therapist, closest friend, inspiration and the only grandmother I ever knew. She was family and I will never forget her. Laughter will be difficult for a while but when I’m sad, lonely or upset all I will have to do is think of Joan and a smile will cross my face. Laughter is what she gave us and laughter is what she would want us to do in remembrance of her. Melissa and Cooper, my thoughts are with you and I love you both so much. Joan, thank you for taking me in and loving me as a daughter. I will miss you deeply and will always hear your voice in my head saying ‘my darling get out there and be you!’
Kelly saw Joan like a mother figure or ‘Grandmother’ as she would say lol.
